An Expressive Face

I just realized that one of my NaNo characters has a very expressive face.  She says a lot with her eyebrows, forehead, lips, and nose.  This makes her an interesting person to imagine, but a potentially challenging person to write.

Have you had to describe the facial expressions of a character who speaks with her face?  How did you handle it?

My characters make faces all the time. It is indeed a challenge to creatively mix up the language I use to describe it, lest readers (and I!) grow tired of seeing the same phrases repeated over and over again. Varying usage of literal description vs. metaphor/simile helps. If I ever feel I’ve got it perfected, I’ll let you know!
