Writing To Do List

It’s probably only mildly interesting to you, but I thought I’d share my giant writing to do list with you.  Perhaps this way you can help me keep on track.  Maybe it will make you feel better about your own list, if it’s shorter or less daunting than mine…

This is for the entire year of 2012, so you know I’ll be adding to it as we go.

Dragon Pendant – first major revision
Life in Dreams – preliminary revision
Life in Dreams – first major revision
Butterflies-related short story collection – revision and prep for e-publication
Chasing Dreams – write first draft
The Queen’s Butterflies – overhaul??
The Queen’s Butterflies – query publishers (if not overhauling…)
NaNoWriMo – let’s do that again!

The list isn’t very long, really, but most of these are LARGE projects.  The most daunting are perhaps writing Chasing and the possible overhaul of Butterflies.  What do you have on your plate for 2012?

Current novel project — finish and tidy draft by end of January (as of now, approx. halfway there)
“Ballad of Allyn-a-Dale” — resume querying agents
Rewrite old novel as a stage musical — will first have to look up some how-tos
Novel inspired by “Snow White” — write that
Sherwood-based short story prequel to “Ballad” — write that
NaNoWriMo — will have to start planning for that by October
Short stories — as need or inspiration arises

I’ll feel far less daunted once that first item on the agenda is behind me.

You can do it…stick to it! I can relate to the magnitude of your goals. I have my first book due to be published later this month, and the rest of my “to do” list is also full of revisions as well as completions of other manuscripts. Hopefully you and I will both end the year with more published novels than we started it with! Good luck!
