Tonight I was hoping to write some more of Mara’s story. I feel like I’m finally at a point where I can understand the dynamic in the world around her, even if she is still an infant. When I took a shower (a favorite place to work on story) I was planning to delve further into Mara as a baby.
Plans only last until the battle begins, right?
Instead I got Gretchen. Eleven-year-old Gretchen, in fact, and instead of adding details, my inspiration was to change her story. Gah!
So I wrote it. I haven’t even cleaned up the copy that is currently in Gretchen’s document! I had to wade through a lot of other people’s stories to find the right place to make the change. It’s not complete and it will probably take revising to get to something usable, but at least the idea is down and the inspiration can move on to something else.
Please let it be Mara!

Isn’t that just how it goes, sometimes? X)
Ah, well — at least you were inspired to write *something*!
